Special Spotlight Theatre was started in 1982 by Robert and Elaine Stepp and their daughter Marilyn Roget. It is the programs purpose to give individuals with disabilities or other
special needs the opportunity to develop their artistic ability, to be able to interact with others and give them a sense of accomplishment and confidence through their performance.

Special Spotlight Theatre is a special place for special people. In our classrooms and on the stage, Special Spotlight Theatre provides students with self-esteem, joy and a place where they can excel.
Special Spotlight Theatre is a 501.c.3 non-profit organization. It is governed by a Board of Directors, who volunteer their time and efforts. Each Board member shows a keen interest in the welfare of every dance student and the ongoing life of Special Spotlight Theatre.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, Marilyn Roget
Marilyn has been involved in training young dancers since the early 60's. A New York native, Marilyn studied dance with renowned coaches at Ballet Repertory, Ballet Russe and American Ballet Theatre. While in New York, she founded two schools of dance, the School of Classical Ballet Art I and II. In 1982, she relocated to Florida via the Bahamas and founded Special Spotlight Theatre, dedicated to the cultural enrichment of individuals with disabilities. In 2010, Special Spotlight Theatre opened its doors to all interested students, with and without disabilities.
